Some colleges in Missouri will suspend in-person classes due to concerns over COVID-19 or the Corona Virus. This is affecting students attending local schools as well as bigger universities. The schools are taking what has been called preventive and proactive measures to minimize the risk of exposure and the spread of COVID-19 through the reduction in mass assembly on campus.
Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville is currently on break. They have postponed resuming in-person classes until March 23rd.
Truman State University in Kirksville will suspend in-person classes from March 16th to the 20th.
North Central Missouri College is suspending in-person classes from March 23rd to April 3rd.
The University of Missouri in Columbia canceled all classes through Sunday and beginning next week will have remote classes, have their spring break and resume classes on March 30th.
Other schools in Missouri and other states are also suspending in-person classes and students are being contacted about on-line classes and actions taken for their school.
