New Radios Will Improve Communication For Police & Fire

New radios for the Chillicothe Police and Fire Departments will greatly improve the ability for the police officers to communicate in town, but Chillicothe Fire Chief Darrell Wright says their department responds throughout the county.

Wright says there are times when they will need to work with other department, and these new radios make it much easier to do so.

The cost of the system for both departments (after the grants are applied) is about $390,000, including the computers for the police cars.  The funding will be split between the Fire Department, Ambulance District and the Police Department.

Installation for the Police computers will take place in September, and the radios could be installed in November or December.
