Chillicothe officers responded to 78 calls for service Thursday, including reports of theft.
3:47 am, Officers located an open garage door in the 400 block of Locust Street. Premises were checked and Officers secured the building.
10:04 am, Officer monitoring traffic in the 400 block of N. Washington Street.
1:03 pm, An Officer was at the Police Department to return the property to the resident after an attempt to contact the resident at their home had been unsuccessful. Property returned.
1:05 pm, Officer recovered an American flag in the 900 block of Vine Street.
4:22 pm, Officer spoke on the phone with a woman advising them that an individual had tried to cash checks at a bank in Trenton and in Kearney by using her Social Security Number. The intended victim advised that unsuccessful attempts were made.
6:04 pm, Officers dispatched to the 1400 block of Polk Street about an open door on a home. Officers searched the home, finding nothing out of the ordinary. The home was secured.
7:42 pm, Report of a careless and imprudent driver on Washington going south from Calhoun Street, speeding and running traffic lights. The description of the vehicle was given by a witness, but officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
