As the school year continues for the Chillicothe R-II School district, Superintendent Dan Wiebers says “The district will continue providing virtual and alternate methods of instruction for our students. A plan will be developed to collect chromebooks, textbooks, and work packets near the planned end of the school year, which is May 19, 2020.” He says please continue to follow district emails, social media posts, and local media to learn more about the district’s plans.
No decision has been made on Summer School at this time and the district is looking to the state for guidance on that issue.
Wiebers says they are also working on plans for a Graduation Ceremony at some point. When those plans are finalized, the district will make the announcements.
Mr Wiebers says they continue working on a plan to get employees back into their classrooms and offices to prepare their rooms for summer. This will also include a plan to get students back in buildings to retrieve items from lockers and to return items to the school. Until that time he asks, please do not attempt to enter Chillicothe R-II School property. The district and its buildings remain closed.
