The Chillicothe Police Department was expecting delivery of five new police cars near the beginning of March, but Chillicothe Police Chief Jon Maples says they were held up by production delays
Those rebates were to help with the maintenance cost on the current fleet while the production lines caught up.
Maples says that was before the shutdown due to COVID-19. He says they have had additional delays since then.
He says this is becoming a problem due to the miles on the current fleet and the maintenance that is needed because the vehicles have not been replaced.
He says the delays are at the factory and not with the local dealer.
