Livingston County Sheriff’s Report

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reports several incidents and arrests over the past couple of weeks.

Incident Reports:

May 28th at 1:00 am, deputies responded to a vehicle in a ditch on LIV 256.  The deputy found the driver was trying to leave the scene and further investigation resulted in the arrest of 30-year-old Jeremy Jacob Buch of Chillicothe for alleged Driving While Intoxicated.  He was processed and released.

May 29th,  Deputies responded to Highway F address for a possible domestic disturbance.  One person was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine and willingly sought treatment.  Methamphetamine evidence was seized and sent to MSHP Crime Lab.  Investigation continues.

May 31st  deputies responded to report of possible domestic violence and careless driving incident on Old Highway 190.  The report states a man struck a pole with his vehicle and left the scene, was arguing with a female victim, threw the victim’s phone out of the vehicle, and assaulted the victim.  The woman was located and the man had left the scene.  As a result, deputies arrested 22-year-old Jacob Michael McGary of Chillicothe for alleged Driving While Intoxicated, Domestic Assault, and Traffic offenses.

June 1st, about 10:30 pm deputies were called to an area off Highway JJ for a missing adult on ATV that had not been seen in several hours.  The man was located but had passed away.  The coroner called to scene.

Most Wanted Updates:

June 2nd the deputies arrested 29-year-old Christopher P. Graves Jr. of Kansas City for alleged Delivery of Controlled Substance.  Graves had pleaded guilty in March and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.

Other Arrests:

May 22nd at 1:49 am a vehicle on US 36 was stopped for 99 in a 65 near Mooresville.  The report states the vehicle smelled of marijuana and the driver, 23-year-old Darius Malik Singletary of Michigan was arrested for the excessive speed and on a Jackson County warrant for alleged failure to appear in court.  He posted bond and was released.

May 24th at 12:56 am a vehicle on US 36 near LIV 255 was stopped for 86 in a 65 zone.  The deputy arrested 52-year-old Billy Cecil Drake of Illinois for alleged DWI – 2nd offense, Speeding, and Failing to Drive in a Single Lane. He was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

Citations:

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department had received multiple complaints of a specific vehicle driving Highway 190 each morning, speeding and making bad passes.  On May 27th at about 7:00 am, deputies checked the suspected vehicle and the Gallatin driver was ticketed for speeding – 72 in a 55.  The report states the driver had been cited for speeding in the same area a year ago.
