The State of Missouri released the Audit Report for Caldwell County for the period ending December 31, 2019. The audit was conducted by McBride, Lock & Associates, LLC, Certified Public Accountants of Kansas City. Several findings were listed in the report. They include:
- Lack of documentation on pay raises for part-time employees
- Should adopt Investment and Fraud Risk Assessment policies.
- Have the departments prepare bank reconciliations monthly
- The County should implement internal controls to ensure that the SEFA completely and accurately states the expenditures of federal awards
The Caldwell County Commission agreed to take steps to implement the actions requested in the audit.
