There is a new development in the attempt to bring a CAFO or Confined Animal Feeding Operation to the Livingston County area.
Livingston County Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says the public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, September 15th has been canceled, but the issue is not over.
The original application by United Hog Farms was made in February and approved by the DNR in May.
Douglas says there have been several concerns on the proposed operation from groups and citizens.
Douglas says he is not sure when the new application will get to the public hearing phase. He said it could be a month or longer due to a lot of factors.
