The Livingston County Health Center reports the number of COVID-19 cases for Livingston County is 165, with 29 active cases and 139 recovered. There is also one death in Livingston County due to COVID-19.
The Chillicothe Correction Center has reported 253 cases among the offenders and 2 active cases.
The Health Center has also passed along information from Kansas City Pediatric Cardiology for parents of student-athletes who have tested positive for COVID-19.
- The American College of Cardiology recommends that any child that has tested positive for COVID stays out of sports for 14 days.
- If the child develops symptoms of COVID, he/she should be asymptomatic for 14 days before returning to sports.
- Kids 12+ years old and active in sports who had moderate COVID symptoms (fever for 3 or more days, bed rest) should have an ECG before returning to sports.
- If the ECG is abnormal, or if there are cardiac symptoms (chest pain/shortness of breath with exertion, palpitations, fainting, new murmur), a pediatric cardiologist evaluation is recommended.
** These recommendations are in place because of the risk of COVID-associated myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle.)**
