The Chillicothe Hornets Soccer team earned a 3-1 win over St Paul’s Lutheran of Concordia.
Chillicothe scored first in the 18th minute from a Chace Corbin goal off a Ben Cueni-Smith Corner Kick for a 1-0 lead. St Paul’s scored in the 34th minute but two minutes after that, Chillicothe’s Drake Cosgrove scored for a 2-1 lead.
In the Second half, Gabe Hansen scored unassisted in the 58th minute.
Keeper Jaxon Albertson was active with 12 saves on goal.
Coach Tim Cunningham called it a great week for Chillicothe soccer. He said it was a compete “team” effort from start to finish. He said the midfield of Caleb Vance, Chace Corbin and Sam Reeter controlled the pace of the match and helped create many scoring opportunities.
St Paul’s won the Junior Varsity game 2-1. Chillicothe’s Sam Reeter scored the lone Hornets JV goal.
