The Chillicothe Girls Tennis Team advanced to the team District finals thanks to a 5-0 home win over Cameron. In playoff tennis, once a team reaches five wins, they are declared the winner and any matches in progress are stopped.
Picking up the five wins for the Top Seed Lady Hornets were, in doubles: Delaney May and Megan Sisson 8-2, Cami Carpenter and Leah Lourenco 8-1 and Rylee Washburn and Olivia Anderson 8-3.
In Singles, Delaney May won 6-1, 6-0 and Leah Lourenco beat Joy Collins 6-1, 6-0.
The Lady Hornets will host Trenton for the district title at 4:00pm this afternoon. Chillicothe edged Trenton in the regular season 5 to 4. Trenton, the #2 seed, beat Kirksville in the other semi-final.
