Another softball game and another win for the Chillicothe Lady Hornets. Chillicothe won at Putnam County 6-2 over the Lady Midgets.
Putnam scored two runs in the fourth but Chillicothe answered with four runs in the fifth and two more in the top of the seventh. The Lady Hornets had 12 hits and just one error.
At the plate Kirsten Dunn had two doubles and a single, Mika Hibner and Kinlei Boley both had a double and single, Hope Helton had a double, Halle Rucker had two singles and Brooke Horton and Sophia Luetticke each had a single.
Boley had the start and pitched six innings for the win, while Rucker had the save in the seventh inning. The two, combined, allowed two earned runs off just three hits with six strike outs and two walks.
Chillicothe will play at Benton Friday at 5:00pm. A Lady Hornets win would make them sole MEC Champions.
