The Chillicothe Lady Hornets softball team scored in every inning to beat St Joseph Benton 12-2 in five innings Friday afternoon. With the win, Chillicothe won the MEC Softball title with a perfect 7-0 conference record.
Chillicothe was led by Brooke Horton with a home run and two singles, Kinlei Boley with three doubles, Mollie Ellis and Sophia Luetticke each with a double and single, Hope Helton with two singles, Mika Hibner, Kirsten Dunn, and Halle Rucker each with a single.
Boley earned the win, allowing two runs off two hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
Coach Lee Rucker said his team “was very focused for the game and determined to finish the conference season on top”.
The team will host Trenton Monday at 5:00 pm
