The running game of the Savannah Savages was too much for the Chillicothe football team last night. Savannah handed Chillicothe a 37-8 loss at home.
Savannah scored first in the second quarter on a 6-yard run by their running back Evan Yount for the only score of the first half.
Yount broke loose on two long touchdown runs in the second quarter of 57-yards and 49-yards. An 11-yard pass gave Savannah a 28-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter. A 1-yard Quarterback rn in the early 4th quarter made the score 35-0.
Chillicothe scored their only touchdown with 3:11 left in the game on a Gage Leamer 1-yard run with Braxton Johnson scoring the two-point conversion.
With the reserve players in for both teams, a Savannah punt landed at the one-yard line. Three plays later the Chillicothe ball carrier was tackled in the end zone for a safety and the final points in the game.
