Chillicothe City Administrator Darin Chappell talked about COVID-19 and mask mandates. Chappel says the infection rate for Livingston County is at about 4.1% and this is being watched closely by health officials at the local and state level. He says he understands the concerns of the public and why some wonder why the city doesn’t have a mask mandate.
Chappell says there are cities that have a mandate in place and ask the public to report violations.
If a decision is made for a mask mandate, the information to support the mandate would be provided by the Livingston County Health Center and the mandate would come from the City council and Mayor. At this time, there is NO mask requirement for Chillicothe and Livingston County.
