Students in the Chillicothe R-II School District have been enjoying free breakfast and lunch due to funding through the UDSA as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Chillicothe R-II Assistant Superintendent Zack McMains says that program was expected to run through the end of December, but they learned this week it will continue through the end of June.
McMains says you don’t have to be a Chillicothe R-II student to qualify.
This program also covers breakfast for the students.
He says the free meals program has worked well for the district and for the families they serve.
