A report of a chimney flue fire summoned Chillicothe Fire Fighters to a home in the 800 block of Vine Street Monday night. The call came in at 9:08 and the fire crew arrived in two minutes. They cleared the wood stove, placing the material outside. Ladder 1 was used to spray water into the top of the chimney. A dry chemical extinguisher was used at the base of the fire.
The report states there was no significant damage as the fire was contained to the chimney. The homeowner was advised to have the chimney cleaned and inspected before use.
The fire crew was on the scene for just under an hour.
