The Chillicothe R-II School Board approved the Tax Rate of $4.7160 per $100 valuation as part of Tuesday’s meeting. Superintendent Dr Roger Barnes says the taxes are part of the primary funding for the school district.
Dr Barnes says the rate is made up of three parts, each of which were approved by the voters in the past. The first is the operating levee that has a ceiling of $3.63.
The other two portions are the Debt Service and Capital Improvement.
A public hearing was held at Tuesday’s School Board meeting and there was no-one from the public that spoke about the rate.
