An attempted traffic stop Wednesday evening resulted in the arrest of a Washington Man with multiple warrants. Chillicothe Police report the traffic stop was at about 9:30 pm in the 1900 block of North Washington Street. The vehicle failed to stop for the officer but continued at a normal speed northbound on Washington Street to Kelsey Reeter Road and turned around southbound on Washington Street to the 1000 block of South Washington Street, where he came to a stop.
Officers report the driver failed to exit the vehicle or follow any commands from officers. The 57-year-old driver from the State of Washington was assisted from the vehicle while resisting arrest, but was subsequently taken into custody. Officers found he had 3 felony warrants out of Washington for alleged Burlgary, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Harassment of a Criminal Justice Participant Performing Official Duties. Officials in Washington also listed the man as being violent, having made multiple threats to kill law enforcement.
The man was taken to a medical facility for an injury he received as a result of his resisting the arrest. A Statement of Probable Cause has been issued and sent to the Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney on charges of Failing to register a motor vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Driving While Suspended, Driving While Intoxicated, and Unlawful Use and Possession of a Firearm.
