Construction will begin Monday on the replacement of the Grand River Overflow Bridge, on Missouri 139 near Sumner,. MoDOT announced the 57-year-old bridge will be closed to traffic Monday at 8:00 am as the contractor for the project, Boone Construction, begins the work on replacing the bridge. They expect the new, wider bridge will open around July 1st.
A marked detour will be in place. That detour includes:
Northbound – using Route H, US 65, US 36 and Highway 5.
Southbound – using US 24, Highway 11, Route CC and Route E.
