The bridge rehabilitation of the US 65 bridge over the Grand River was completed Wednesday and two-way traffic was restored at around noon. The Missouri Department of Transportation says the work on the project began in March with the realignment and relocation of the access road to the City water treatment plant and the river access.
Radmacher Brothers Excavating Co. closed one lane of the bridge in April to begin replacing the bridge deck and for the majority of the project, traffic was still able to cross the bridge with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone.
On Wednesday, the crews complete the work on the bridge, removed the barriers that separated traffic from the work area, and were able to restore two-way traffic over the bridge.
MoDOT reports the contractor has some off-road work that may still occur and motorists should continue to use caution as workers may be close to the roadway.
