The CODE RED Community Alert system for Livingston County is active and Livingston county residents can register for the program now by texting “LIVALERT” to 99411. You will receive a message on your cell phone with a link to register for the service.
Fire Chief Eric Reeter says in addition to the weather alerts, you will also be able to opt-in to notification for most of the same services available from Textcaster.
Reeter says one of the big benefits of the program is the ability to receive alerts on a landline.
If you do not have a mobile phone, follow this LINK to register on your computer. You can also contact the Chillicothe Fire Department at 646-2139 and someone will assist you in registering for the alerts.
