A rock car located near the old depot on 1st street has been declared surplus by the Chillicothe City Council. City Administrator Darin Chappell explains the reason for the declaration.
Chappell says the city’s railroad operator, Motive Rail, requested the declaration so the rail car can be scrapped.
Motive Rail also asked that an old pick-up trailer that is falling apart be declared surplus and scrapped. Both were approved by the council.
