The Livingston County Health Center will begin COVID-19 vaccinations of health care providers when their first supply of vaccine arrives, as early as this week. Health Center Director Sherry Weldon says they will follow the vaccination protocol starting with the vaccination for Phase 1A. This includes – Paid and unpaid people serving in health care settings who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials and cannot work from home.
Weldon says when Phase 1A is complete, the state will move on to Phase 1B. This includes – critical infrastructure workers and Missourians at higher risk for COVID-19 disease identified by the CDC established comorbidities for COVID-19
She says in Phase 1B, local residents at higher risk that want the vaccination will be vaccinated IF they fall in the definition of higher risk.
The Livingston County Health Center will be receiving the Pfizer vaccine. This was possible by joining other County Health Departments to reach the minimum requirement for doses distributed.
The Moderna vaccine will not be available to Livingston County until at least the end of January.
