The Trenton Police Department arrested a local man after an eight-hour standoff at a home on Kavanaugh Street Tuesday. The stand-off started around 2:25 pm when the Trenton Police Department received a call about a suicidal man with a gun.
The officers secured the area with the assistance of the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department and the Highway Patrol. A special response team from the St. Joseph Police Department and Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department were also called in to end the standoff.
After 8 hours, 37-year-old Marquise Jones of Trenton was taken into custody for alleged Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
