The Chillicothe Boys basketball team jumped to a big lead early but had to work for the win, beating East Buchanan 57 to 53. Chillicothe built a 23-point lead early in the second quarter and led by 16 at the beginning of the fourth.

Griff Bonderer and Hayden Simmer both finished with 14 points, Mason Baxter popped in nine, Wyatt Brandsgaard, James Mathew, and Cayden Potter each made a six-point contribution with Eli Cross scoring two. Kyle Young and Landon Winder also played but did not score.
Chillicothe is in action Saturday afternoon at Camdenton.
