The Chillicothe girls’ basketball team opened up a close game in the third quarter, beating East Buchanan 61-42. The teams traded baskets in the early third quarter when Chillicothe went on an 11-0 run to take a ten-point lead, eventually winning by 19 points.

Four Chillicothe players hit the double figure scoring mark. Essie Hicks with 17, Lucy Reeter with 14, Jolie Bonderer with 11 and Jessica Reeter with 10. Kinlei Boley finished with four, Cali Burkhardt with three and Brook Horton with two.
Other Lady Hornets with playing time in the game were Clara Leamer, Izzie Montgomery, Ellie Barnett, Sophia Luetticke, Selby Miller and Bre Pithan.
Chillicothe plays at Marshall tonight, JV game at 5:30 and varsity to follow.
