The Chillicothe Boys Basketball team made the most of their 3-hour trip south to Camdenton with a 68-51 win over the Camdenton Lakers. Coach Tim Cool says the Hornets overcame the Lakers full court press and transition game.
Chillicothe trailed by three at the end of the first quarter but took the lead for good in the middle of the second quarter.
Chillicothe was led by Hayden Simmer with 25 points, Griff Bonderer with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Cayden Potter with ten points, James Mathew with six, Wyatt Brandsgaard with five, Mason Baxter with three, Landon Winder with two and Kyle Young with one.
Chillicothe is now 9-3 and will play Tuesday in the Cameron Tournament.
The Camdenton Junior Varsity beat Chillicothe 56 to 42. Chillicothe was led by Landon Winder with 16, Cameron Fleener with 12, James Mathew with eight, Kyle Young with seven, Gabe Hansen with three and Quentin Cranmer with two.
