As the winter weather system moves through the area today, The Missouri Department of Transportation is reporting road conditions are changing. Early in the day, the Northcentral part of the state, including the Chillicothe area, saw mostly rain. As the afternoon continues, the rain has been changing to snow, especially in areas to the north. The National Weather Service says snow is expected to continue into the overnight hours and we need to be aware of changing road conditions. Check the MoDOT Traveler Information Map at https://traveler.modot.org/map/. MoDOT recommends you allow more space between vehicles.
If you see plows on the road clearing the snow, give them room to do their job. Stay back far enough that they can see you. Remember, if you can not see their mirrors, they can not see you.
