A strong fourth quarter helped the Chillicothe Lady Hornets to a come from behind 64-60 upset win over Smithville in the semi-finals of the Cameron Tournament.
Chillicothe had a 20-point fourth quarter and fought back from a six-point deficit in the quarter. Jessica Reeter had 14 of her 24 points in the fourth quarter.
Coach Darren Smith said Reeter overcame some early foul problems.
Smithville had beaten Chillicothe early in the season in the Savannah Tournament. In addition to Reeter’s points, Essie Hicks had 13, Jolie Bonderer with 10, Lucy Reeter with 8, Selby Miller with 7, Cali Burkhart with 2 and playing time for Brooke Horton and Ellie Barnett.
Half of Smithville’s points came from their two six-foot plus players, Christina Walsh with 18 and Kenzie Moes with 12.
Chillicothe faces Maryville for title on Saturday. Maryville beat Cameron 54-41.
