The Chillicothe Boys won the Consolation Trophy of the Cameron Tournament with a 60-41 win over Cameron. Chillicothe was led by the solid 1-2 punch of Griff Bonderer’s inside shooting and Hayden Simmer’s outside game. Coach Tim Cool said he was pleased with how the team played, especially early.
Bonderer finished with 21 points and 8 rebounds, Simmer had 19 points and also 8 rebounds. Wyatt Brandsgaard had seven points, James Mathew with six off the bench, Landon Winder with five off the bench, two for Mason Baxter and playing time for Cayden Potter, Jackson Trout and Gabe Hansen.
Maryville won the Boys tournament championship over Smithville 49-43
Chillicothe girls and boys host Lathrop in a double-header tonight, girls varsity game at 6:00pm with both games live on KCHI.
