The Chillicothe Lady Hornets basketball team lost to the Maryville Lady Spoofhounds Saturday 67 to 49 in the Cameron Tournament Championship game. Chillicothe led 21 to 15 after one quarter but couldn’t hold the lead.
Maryville won the game from the three point line, hitting 11 treys to Chillicothe’s four.
Lady Hornets Coach Darren Smith said his team struggled at times against Maryville’s second half press.
Chillicothe was led by Essie Hicks with 28 points, Jolie Bonderer with 10, Jessica Reeter with 7, Lucy Reeter and Brooke Horton each with two and playing time for Ellie Barnett, Selby Miller, Bre Pithan, Sophia Luetticke, Izzie Montgomery and Clara Leamer.
Maryville was led by Serena Sundell with 31 points and Anastyn Pettlon with 19.
