Chillicothe Fire Fighters were called to two fire scenes this weekend.
Chillicothe Fire Fighters were called to a house fire at 410 Cherry Street Sunday afternoon. The call came in at 12:45 and the crew arrived in two minutes to find the two-story home had fire coming from the windows on the south side of the home.
The firefighters found the fire had traveled from the main floor to the attic and roof. Three holes were cut in the roof and water and foam were used to put out the fire that had gotten between the plywood and shingles.
About 2000 gallons of water and 12 gallons of foam were used to put out the fire. The fire crew was on the scene for about three hours.
Chillicothe Fire Fighters responded to a Brush Fire at 14748 LIV 232 Sunday afternoon. The call came in about 3:45 pm and the fire crew arrived about 10 minutes later. They found four people were attempting to contain the fire that had crossed onto a neighbors’ land. Water was used at the edge of the timber and a fire line was created to stop the spread. The report states the fire may have been the result of a flare-up from a brush pile that had been burned two weeks ago.
The fire crew was on the scene for about 90 minutes.
