Chillicothe Fire Fighters responded to a grass fire Saturday at about 5:50 pm, arriving 16 minutes later at the address at 4677 Route Y, to find fire close to a propane tank. The fire was at the back of the property. The fire line was about 500 yards long and the fire crew used about 100 gallons of water and leaf blowers to control the fire that had burned about 10 acres. The fire crew was on the scene for about an hour and 10 minutes.
The fire department received a second call to the same location at about 11:30 pm and returned to find the fire had picked back up. The fire crew used leaf blowers and about 150 gallons of water to bring the fire back under control and extinguish hot spots. The fire crew was on the scene for about an hour and 15 minutes.
