Several local chapters earned awards at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention in Sedalia.\
Chillicothe FFA 3rd In Ag Sales
The Chillicothe FFA Chapter placed third in the agricultural sales career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. Sixteen teams participated in the competition. Chillicothe’s team includes Seth Hansen, Gabbryelle Hapes, Makenna Campbell and Chandler Stedem.
Individual placement in the event includes: Hansen placed second, Hapes placed fourth, Campbell placed 31st and Stedem placed 40th out of 56 participants
Eads Places 3rd In Prepared Public Speaking
Jamesport FFA’s Hailey Eads placed third in the Division II prepared public speaking leadership development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. Sixteen students from six districts were selected to compete at the state level. The competition requires contestants to deliver a three- to four-minute speech based on an agriculture topic they have selected and researched. The contestants present their speech in front of a panel of judges and then undergo an additional three minutes of questions. The event helps students to polish logical thinking and verbal skills needed in the classroom.
Milan FFA Places 3rd in FFA Knowledge
The Milan FFA Chapter placed third in the FFA knowledge career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. This event included 26 teams. The team members include Adan Callejo, Jackson Smith, Danika Shepherd and Kyla White. Callejo placed ninth, Smith placed ninth, Shepherd placed 16th and White placed 20th out of 94 participants.
The knowledge teams spend numerous hours studying for the 100-question test covering FFA history and information on the National FFA Organization.
Trenton FFA 6th in Chapter Meeting
Trenton FFA placed 6th in the Chapter Meeting competition at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention in Sedalia. Trenton team members are Emma Roberts, Cade Claycomb, Kenzy Dolan, Kinze Hanson, Kate Clark, Kimberly Otto and Jena Harris.
Participating teams present opening and closing ceremonies and demonstrate meeting procedures. Individual team members also take a written exam.
Grand River Technical School sponsors this event and introduces ninth graders to parliamentary procedure.
