The Chillicothe Hornets Boys Tennis team finished in fourth place in Wednesday’s Benton Tournament. Teams played three doubles and two singles matches in each round.
Chillicothe opened with a 3-2 win over Benton. Caleb Corbin and Carter Allen won 10-3, Chace Corbin and Emmett Young won 10-7. Gabe Peterson and Shayden Hawkins won 11-9, Anthony Trantham lost 0-10 and Austin Lyford lost 1-10.
In the Semifinals the Hornets lost to Savannah 0-5. Corbin and Allen lost 4-10, Corbin and Young lost 5-10, Peterson and Hawkins lost 5-10, Trantham lost
0-10 and Lyford lost 0-10.
Chillicothe then lost the third place match to Trenton 1-4. Corbin and Allen lost 4-10, Corbin and Young lost 3-10, Peterson and Hawkins lost 2-10, Trantham lost 2-10 and Lyford won by forfeit.
