A Chillicothe Senior Wrestler will take his skills to the college level next school year.
Chillicothe Senior Sheldon Rader has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for University of Central Missouri next season.
Rader calls the opportunity a “good fit”
Rader said he wasn’t expecting to wrestle in college until he started receiving attention from college programs in October.
Hornets wrestling coach Chad Smith says Rader’s dedication to the sport will help him to become successful.
Smith finished his Senior season taking sixth place at 120 pounds, which is one of the drawbacks. College wrestling weight classes begin at 125 pounds, meaning Rader will have a rare problem in the sport of wrestling: PUTTING ON weight.
Rader finished his high school career with two state medals and 125 high school wins, good for seventh place all time in Chillicothe program history.
