The Midland Empire Conference made the rest of the Missouri High School Baseball conferences stand up and take notice this high school post season.
The MEC had a state championship team when Conference Champion Kansas City St Pius X also earned the Class 3 State Championship.
In Class 4, St Joseph Lafayette brought home the Third Place State Trophy. They beat Chillicothe in the first round of state. The Hornets won their district, despite being the lowest seed.
St Joseph Bishop LeBlond went 0 and 7 in the MEC race, but finished as a Class 2 District Champion and State Qualifier, losing in the first round of state to the eventual runner up, East Buchanan.
Savannah finished second in the Class 4 district to Lafayette. The district was comprised of only five MEC teams.
