Stopped For 96 In A 65, While On The Way To Court

Two Kansas City men were stopped by Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies on the way to a court appearance Thursday.  Sheriff Steve Cox says they had received information about an eastbound vehicle on US 36 traveling near 100 miles per hour near the Livingston/Caldwell County line.  The vehicle was located and stopped for 96 in a 65 zone near the Grand River Bridge.

The report states both adult occupants were on probation or parole with the driver being on paper for a Firearm related offense and the male passenger on parole for a methamphetamine violation.    They were coming from Kansas City and were traveling to Linneus in Linn County Missouri as both had to appear in criminal court that morning on stealing charges.

The driver was cited for mandatory appearance in Livingston County court on the 96 in a 65 and also issued citation for not wearing a seatbelt.  Information was submitted to the probation/parole officers supervising both people.
