It was a shocking, come from behind win last night for the St Joseph Mustangs in the MINK League Post Season Tournament Semifinals against Clarinda.
The A’s, with an impressive 37-5 record, blasted St Joe for seven runs in the bottom of the first.
It remained 7-0 until the seventh when the Mustangs scored two runs, then three in the eighth and three more in the ninth to win 8 to 7. St Joe held the A’s scoreless for the final eight innings and allowed seven runs off nine hits.
The St Joe Mustangs will face Sedalia for the league championship in a three game series.
Sedalia beat Joplin nine to three. After tying the score at one-apiece in the fourth inning, Sedalia put up a six-run fifth inning and two more runs in the sixth, in the nine-inning game. Joplin ends with a 19-22 record and Sedalia improves to 21-17.
The best-of-three championship series between St Joseph and Sedalia begins Thursday.
