KCHI area unemployment numbers have been matching a statewide trend of increasing over April, May, and June, but area numbers are below the State level of 5.1% in June, 4.7% in May, and 4.1% in April.
In Livingston County, the June unemployment was at 3.4%, compared to 3.0 in May and 2.6 in April. July numbers have not yet been released.
Carroll County is at 4.9% in June, Chariton is 3.6%, Daviess is 4.3% for June, Grundy County is at 4.2%, Linn County had the highest level in the KCHI area at 5.2% for June and Sullivan County had 4.9%.
The June nationwide unemployment rate was 6.1%, up from 5.5% in May. but down from 11.2 in June of 2020.
Missouri July unemployment numbers are expected to be released in mid-August.
