The Chillicothe Boy Scout Troop 120 will have a Flag Retirement Ceremony, this Saturday at Simpson Park. The Ceremony will begin at 3:00 pm at the Retirement Pit behind the maintenance building at the park.
The Scouts have collected approximately 150 flags from the box at the courthouse, the Elks Club, City, and other organizations. All flags are prepped before the ceremony.
The ceremony is open to the public and the Chillicothe Fire Department will also be on hand for safety.
The Flag Retirement Collection Box and the Flag Retirement Pit are both Eagle Scout projects by local scouts.
