State Troopers in Ray County arrested 31-year-old William C Whitlock of Unionville on Monday morning. The arrest was for alleged distribution of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released.
A two-vehicle accident Monday on Interstate 35 near Cameron left one driver with minor injuries. State Troopers report 61-year-old Jerry Cook of Hamilton was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital for treatment following the accident at about 2:40 pm. According to the report, Cook was southbound on I-35, and a van driven by 23-year-old Kyle B Carnes of Shawnee, KS was also southbound and hit the trailer pulled by Cook’s dump truck. Carnes was not injured. Both drivers were wearing safety belts.
