The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Softball team went 2 and 0 in their three-team preseason jamboree Monday night.
Chillicothe blanked Cameron 11-0. Lady Hornets Coach Lee Rucker said the team hit the ball well throughout the line up. Ten difference players had hits with five of them getting two hits in the four-inning game. The team had 15 total hits.
Coach Rucker said his team’s pitching and defense were strong. Halle Rucker went three innings and allowed just one single. Hadley Beemer pitched a perfect inning in the fourth.
The Lady Hornets beat Lathrop 1-0, scattering seven hits through the four innings. Coach Rucker said he was pleased with the energy the team had, and how they competed all night.
For Chillicothe: Sophia Luetticke had 3 singles and a double. Halle Rucker with four singles, Jolie Bonderer with three singles, Hope Helton a single and a triple, Dawsyn Lightner had two singles, Isabelle FitzPatrick two singles and a walk, Kinlei Boley and Kirsten Dunn each had a single, Bre Pithan had a single and a walk, Hadley Beemer a single, walk and sacrifice bunt and Alyssa Munroe and Katelynn Fleener each with a single.
