Two accidents in the area counties left four with moderate injuries.
In Linn County, at about 3:15 pm, a 16-year-old boy from St. Catherine was injured in a single-vehicle accident near Brookfield. State Troopers report the boy was northbound on Hook Road and ran off the road, striking a utility pole. The boy sought his own treatment. He was wearing a safety belt.
In Caldwell County, a two-vehicle accident left three injured. State Troopers report the accident happened about 5:55 pm on US 36 at Route B west of Hamilton. According to the report, 76-year-old Jerry Thompson of Pleasant Hill was eastbound on US 36 and a northbound vehicle on Route B, driven by 83-year-old Wayne A Vincent of Hamilton, attempted to cross the highway and pulled into the path of the Thompson vehicle. Vincent’s vehicle was struck on the driver’s side. Thompson and his wife, 77-year-old Hellen L Thompson were taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Vincent refused treatment at the scene.
