Four people were injured in two accidents in the area counties over the weekend. State Troopers report the accidents happened Saturday afternoon.
At about 1:30, Troopers in Carroll County responded to an accident on US 65 near County Road 220. According to the report, a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Robert A Hunnius of Sunrise Beach, MO was northbound and making a left turn, when he was struck on the passenger side by a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Payton C Medlock of Carrollton. Medlock was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing safety belts.
A single-vehicle accident in Linn County at about 5:35 pm left the driver and two passengers injured. The report states 39-year-old Cavrin W Weaver of Lancaster was westbound on Route C, near Shelby, when the truck had a mechanical problem and ran off a bridge and into a creek. The passengers in the truck, 28-year-old Shayana R Sapp of Greentop and an 11-year-old boy from Kirksville, had moderate injuries and were taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. Weaver had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. All three were wearing safety belts.
