Friday’s area football schedule of games will include two big rivalry games. The headliner will be the annual Bell Game between Marceline and Brookfield. A few years ago in a nationwide poll, the game was voted Best High School Football Rivalry Game in the nation.
Brookfield’s first year head Coach Cory Luke is well aware of the importance of winning the Bell Game
The other big rivalry this week is between two towns that are ten miles apart: Gallatin at Penney of Hamilton.
Gallatin Coach Patrick Treece says this has been a close rivalry game the last several years
Penney of Hamilton coach Alex Lloyd says it a geographical rivalry.
The game will be played at Hamilton. Penney has won 9 of the last 10 meetings. Both teams won their opening season games last Friday.
