Drake Cosgrove scored three goals to help the Chillicothe Hornets Soccer team to a 6-0 shut out win over Lafayette. Cosgrove scored in the 4th minute off a Gabe Hansen assist, in the 26th minute off a Tyler Stephens assist and in the 48th minute off a Chace Corbin assist.
Chillicothe had a Wyatt Brandsgaard unassisted goal in the 29th minute for a 3-0 halftime lead.
Corbin scored off a Cosgrove assist on a corner kick in the 51st minute, and off a Sam Reeter assist two minutes later.
Carson Steele had the shut out with two saves.
Coach Tim Cunningham said it was an outstanding bounce back match after Monday’s loss to Maryville.
Cunningham stated “Our guys dominated possession, and ended the match taking 40 shots on goal. We were also able to play several players, helping them gain some valuable Varsity experience. A tip of the cap to Carson Steele, filling in for injured Jaxon Albertson, and earning the clean sheet.”
