CHS Softball Sets Records In Big Win

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Softball team set a School Record in a 22 -3 win at Lafayette in five innings.  The 22 runs breaks the single game school record of 21, set in 2000 in a two-and-one-half innings game against Cameron. The 21 hits ties the record first set in 2009 against Marceline.
Chillicothe scored twice in the first, six in the second, two more in the third and fourth innings and ten in the fifth inning, ending the game under the “mercy” rule.
Sophia Luetticke, Mika Hibner and Kirsten Dunn had three hits including a home run for each player. Hibner also had five RBI.
Isabelle FitzPatrick had a double. Hope Helton, Bre Pithan, Hadley Beemer and Jolie Bonderer had two singles each. Kinlei Boley, Halle Rucker, and Dawsyn Lightner had a single each.  15 Lady Hornets saw playing time in the game.
Boley, Rucker and Beemer combined for the win on the mound, allowing 3 runs off 5 hits with seven strike outs and just one walk.
In the Junior Varsity game, Chillicothe won 10-1.
