The Chillicothe Boys Cross Country team won the Lafayette Invitational out of four complete teams with a score of 30. Benton was a distant second with a score of 53.
For the Hornets, Cain Evans was third, Austin Lyford fifth, Clayton Savage sixth, Stephen Parkes seventh, Carter Shipers ninth, Alton Keller 12th, and Logan Gregory 17th.
The Chillicothe girls were also team champions, due to being the only complete girls team in the competition. Kadence Shipers was first, Juliann Gabrielson second, Yoo Jung Lee third, Alice Hurtgen fourth, Karissa Fostek fifth in the team standings. There were only 15 runners in the varsity girls competition
In the JV boys race Ashton Baker was 4th overall, Cutter Parkes 6th and Landyn Peterson 7th out of 20 runners.
Coach Jennifer Dickson called it a “great meet on the challenging Krug Park course.”
